I love the focus of the Creative Learning & Development team on designing projects to explore diverse ways to improve our education systems to bring out pupils' full potential. The projects understand the importance for pupils to enjoy and to be fascinated by learning as well as developing their character.

I got my internship after…

Volunteering in the fundraising teams of several charities, including Human Appeal, Girl Effect and Platform 51. I graduated last July from City University where I studied the Law.

I chose to study law because I was interested in human rights and wanted to work in the area of social justice. I was eager to find a role which was a good fit with my interest in this area. The RSA is very effective at bringing about change and is a platform for creating a dialogue around social issues, I therefore applied for the position.

I’m most interested in the creative learning & development team's work in…

South Korea! The Korean Exchange programme really interests me, particularly because I am learning Korean at the moment. I like that all the programmes are focused on tackling inequality in education – which I beleive is an important issue to address in today's society. I love the focus of the Creative Learning & Development team on designing projects to explore diverse ways to improve our education systems to bring out pupils' full potential. I’m responsible for…

As a trainee in the team I am exposed to all the projects and am encouraged to set personal goals to work towards in order to make the most of my time here. Currently, I've set myself the challenge of writing a blog! I  read and summarise reports and am assisting on the initial research stage of the Learning about Culture programme. I’m encouraged to attend events on education being held in the UK and I help to find events that are relevant for the team, allowing us to increase our knowledge and understanding of education initiatives.

The best part of my job…

Seeing ideas come to life. This is very exciting since there is a sense of anticipation as the projects unfold as to what our research will discover.  It’s also great to be in an environment like the RSA and to hear people talk passionately about their work.

I was surprised to know the RSA….

Is so diverse and inclusive - both as an organisation and through the range of topics covered in the projects they run.

I’m inspired by…

My father. I find motivation in his journey and story as an immigrant child coming to the UK. This drives me in my own work.

In 5 years’ time…

I’d like to explore the world of think tanks and work in research. It would be great to develop a hypothesis in an area of interest that I could test. It’s a rewarding area to work in and a great way to discover new things and new places.
