After a brief hiatus, we're reopening our crowdfunding support with an additional platform. Fellows are invited to submit their campaigns to our RSA-curated pages with international crowdfunding giant Kickstarter, and Spacehive, the UK's dedicated crowdfunding platform for places.

Here at the RSA we've enjoyed watching and supporting Fellows' projects achieve phenomenal success through crowdfunding and our long-standing relationship with Kickstarter. Most recently we celebrated the target-smashing £21,110 raised through Neil Richmond FRSA's formidable Onesqin campaign. We look forward to continuing to support many successful Fellows' projects through the Kickstarter platform.

Over the summer, we've taken a little time to reflect on how we might broaden our support for Fellows' projects through crowdfunding. We've identified a fantastic opportunity to partner with Spacehive, creating a movement to support Fellows' place-based projects - if you have

  • a festival to get off the ground
  • community-focused renovation works to undertake
  • an innovative civic project in development

then we want to hear from you!

We're moving away from offering training webinars and campaign design for a select few campaigns, as our supportive partner platforms and many within the Fellowship network have far greater crowdfunding expertise to share. We're moving towards raising the profile of as many Fellows' crowdfunded projects as possible, connecting like-minded Fellows and using the RSA name to promote inspiring initiatives with a charitable objective and positive social purpose.

On a weekly basis, we hear of numerous brilliant projects within the Fellowship that could benefit from RSA support, and our intention is that this new approach will increase the public exposure of those campaigns, enabling them to reach their crowdfunding goals.

We've created new crowdfunding guidance, outlining our programme and recommendations to Fellows considering crowdfunding to develop their projects.

You can also find out about alternative support for Fellows' projects via our website.

Any questions? Contact the Fellowship Engagement Team.  We look forward to hearing from you.
