All Fellows and guests are invited to come and celebrate the solstice on the seafront at Redcar. Fellows can enjoy an exclusive viewing of the latest exhibitions at Palace Arts Gallery from 4.30pm. There will be live music, informal networking with Fellows, friends, invited local guests and representatives from the Local Authority.
We’ll head upstairs at Palace Hub after 5.30pm, where Fellows can relax and enjoy panoramic views of the Cleveland Bay and the cliffs beyond. Pauline Moger (NE Chair) and Bill Gibbon (Fellowship Councillor) will be there, while Fellow Mark Hickson (Director of Palace Arts) will explain the vision behind the gallery and the centre, and its role in local regeneration. There will be an engaging presentation on the local area, the beauty and the challenges - and then a move to discussion: what might we do together to really make a difference in the region?
It’s an opportunity for Fellows for hook up informally and for new, creative ideas to emerge - we’ll organise local follow-up sessions for any Fellows who wish to progress any matters discussed on the solstice evening.
We can then, with a bit of luck watch the sun set over the sea.
This event is free but tickets must be registered in advance.
