Join us for an evening dedicated to the power of storytelling and the fight for justice through cinema.

Palestine on film: Farah Nabulsi celebrates the work of Palestinian-British filmmaker and human rights advocate Farah Nabulsi—an Oscar-nominated, BAFTA Award-winning director whose films give voice to Palestinian experiences under occupation.

The arts play a crucial role in changing the world and I believe film precedes them all. It gives voice to the silenced, thereby helping build the empathy and understanding needed to effect change.

Farah Nabulsi
Palestinian-British filmmaker and human rights advocate

Founder of Native Liberty Productions, Nabulsi writes, produces, and directs fiction films that explore the human impact of injustice and dehumanisation. She also created oceansofinjustice.com, a digital resource dissecting the realities of the Israeli military occupation of Palestine through a human rights lens. Her work has been recognised globally – from screenings at the United Nations to awards at international film festivals. Her short film The Present won over 60 international awards, including a BAFTA, and earned an Oscar nomination for Best Live Action Short Film after premiering at Clermont-Ferrand.

This special screening features four of her acclaimed short films – Oceans of Injustice, Today They Took My Son, Nightmare of Gaza, and The Present – followed by an in-depth Q&A moderated by Abla Kandalaft, a film curator and journalist dedicated to spotlighting underrepresented voices.

Through these films and discussion, we’ll explore artistic advocacy, Palestinian identity, resistance, and the power of empathy in reshaping narratives of justice and humanity.
