Celebrate the festive season with an astounding night of live music and spoken-word poetry.

The Cosmic Pumpkin is our monthly spoken word night hosted by poet, DJ and radio presenter Mr Gee.

On 11 December, the Cosmic Pumpkin is hosting its last show of the year and bidding farewell to 2025 in style. There will be featured poetry from Amani Saeed and musical showcases from Bradley Jago and Atlantis Dubois.

This will be an occasion of soulful expression and artistic delight. Not to be missed. Doors open at 7pm.

Amani Saeed

Amani Saeed is an international writer who treads the line between roots and routes. She writes poetry, blog posts, films, and whatever else is needed to get the point across. Amani is the curator and host of the interdisciplinary sell-out night, the hen-nah party, designed by and for queer South Asians. They have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the Globe, and for the UN, among others. Their poetry collection, Split, was published with Burning Eye Books. Amani is the co-writer for Queer Parivaar, which premiered at the BFI Flare 2022 and won Best British at the Iris Prize 2022.

Bradley Jago

Bradley Jago is a London-based artist and performer whose music blends the warmth of classic soul with the infectious hooks of modern pop. Proclaiming his music as ‘queer soul for queer souls’, Jago’s discography is routinely dark, vulnerable and cinematic, as he moves seamlessly between heartfelt ballads, sleek pop, and soaring neo-soul anthems. Having grown up and begun his early music career in Portsmouth, Jago’s discography is unwaveringly autobiographical, documenting his journey from navigating queer identity in a conservative city to discovering freedom and self-expression within London’s creative landscape. Channelling influences from Adele and Amy Winehouse to Sam Smith and Leon Bridges, Jago is on a mission to centre queerness within the modern soul landscape, offering intricate, nuanced stories that reflect queer experiences.

Atlantis Dubois

Atlantis DuBois is a London-based artist and songwriter with a musical legacy that runs deep. Her grandfather was a member of the London reggae band Matumbi, her mother toured internationally as a backing vocalist, and her father is an internationally renowned steelpan player. Atlantis began her career as a professional backing vocalist at just 15, and has since performed at iconic venues including Wembley Stadium, Royal Albert Hall, and Abbey Road Studios. Her versatile voice has taken her to stages with Dua Lipa, Elton John, Natasha Bedingfield, Sigrid, and Mabel. With her up-and-coming solo project, Atlantis, weaves buttery vocals, electronic textures, and bossa nova elements into a sound that is both intimate and expansive.

Mr Gee

Mr Gee has been a veteran on the UK’s live poetry scene since the late 90s. His work has featured in The Times, The Guardian and The New Statesman. He’s presented several radio series: ‘Bespoken Word’, ‘Rhyme & Reason’ and ‘Poetic Justice’, all on BBC Radio 4, the latter of which focused on the extensive rehabilitation work that he does within prisons. He’s currently an advisor to the prison mentor and trainee charity Switchback and a trustee of the educational arts charity Paint the Change. He has delivered a TEDx talk entitled ‘Have poems, will travel’ and is the host of the beloved Cosmic Pumpkin.
