The regular Virtual Coffeehouse series returns, offering an interactive space to share, spark and develop ideas for social change.

Echoing the RSA’s origin as an enlightenment coffeehouse over 250 years ago, our regular Virtual Coffeehouse series offers an interactive space to share, spark and develop ideas for social change across the South East & Central regions.

Each month, on a Friday lunchtime, we feature impactful Fellows, giving them the floor to share their work, or to facilitate a thought-provoking discussion. We invite you to connect with your Fellowship community near and far, be inspired by innovative social change projects, share insights and learn from each other.

The themes and conversations vary month-to-month, fostering unique conversations in each session. So come along, and start your weekend with a spark of inspiration!

Here are two tightened, 30% shorter versions that still keep the tone and structure of your original examples:

  • 23 Jan – Janet Palmer: Promoting Community Climate Action
How can communities drive meaningful climate action at a local level? Janet Palmer shares her experience organising a Great Big Green Week as part of The Climate Coalition’s national campaign, and reflects on the challenges of evaluating such varied community events. She also introduces her accredited Carbon Literacy courses in Stratford‑upon‑Avon, developed with Net Zero Stratford and now running successfully for over a year. Janet highlights how residents are building climate awareness and taking practical action across the district, inviting Fellows to consider new ways of fostering a low‑carbon culture.
  • 6 Feb – Toby Freeman: Creative Approaches to Cancer Awareness
How can humour and creativity open up conversations about young adult cancer and men’s mental health? After personal tragedy, Toby Freeman founded an initiative focused on early awareness, education, and engagement- key to improving outcomes. In this session, he shares his story and the inventive, often hilarious methods he uses to reach young people and break down stigma around sensitive topics. Join a lively discussion on how creative communication can spark dialogue and support wellbeing.
