We can all see the benefits of pulling ever more data onto our phones and computers, but how well do we understand the information we contribute back to the internet?
This RSA South West event will consider this and other key questions such as - How do governments and companies use the information we share with them? What are the risks to us and what are our rights?
The digitisation of information about our lives has the real potential to reform public services and support meaningful information. However, we need to encourage a public dialogue about privacy, identity and the impacts of sharing data.
This symposium will bring together a range of views from the public, commercial and health sectors to illustrate how our data is being used. There will be speakers from ODI (Lucy Knight) and Exeter City Futures (TBA), as well as Coelition (Joss Langford), who will give short presentations and then sit as panel to develop a lively discussion.
This event is free and refreshments will be provided.
