The initial idea behind establishing an RSA legal network is to bring together Fellows with a background in the legal profession for the following purposes:
To discuss specific legal-related issues within the profession that have a social focus (e.g. access to justice, encouraging and helping more legal professionals to undertake pro bono work)
To attempt to influence decision-makers, where felt to be appropriate, in respect of such issues
To provide informal 'workshops' for other Fellows and RSA networks who need assistance with a legal aspect of their project or initiative. This could specifically benefit Fellows who state a need for legal support when submitting an RSA Catalyst application.
The above are simply some initial ideas and we should very much welcome your thoughts. The idea behind the network is not to add unduly to people’s workloads but rather to use better the pool of legal talent within the RSA to further its ideals.
