Join Loretta Lees FRSA to consider the effects of physical and demographic changes that have taken place in Islington over the last half century.
How have the physical and demographic changes in Islington over the last half century affected people’s sense of who they are and how they fit in?
How will current developments change this further?
Can we influence the ‘sense of place’ that is being fostered, to one that is progressive and inclusive?
Loretta Lees FRSA is a passionate professor of human geography, an Islington resident, and actively involved in redevelopment projects at Archway. She will challenge us to look behind glib assurances and assumptions, and think for ourselves about the kind of Islington we want to live in, and what we might do about it.
Join us for this discussion at the Highbury centre, which has a lovely garden we can adjourn to if the weather is fine. The event is free but please book our place.
