Join us to examine how local heritage can drive social and economic change, and help to shape this area’s future.
We are meeting in The Anstice Memorial Hall, where local people are working together to save a remarkable but neglected building and restore it to the heart of the community. The plan is to learn from local experience and data to help community groups, policymakers, heritage professionals and the general public to make and support decisions that maximise the value that historical, natural and cultural heritage can add.
Using the RSA’s Heritage, Identity and Place research project as a stimulus we are inviting you to come together to discuss the value and importance of local heritage and to explore what a collective approach could do to bring about social and economic benefit that shapes the positive future of our locality.
This event is supported by the RSA and local Fellows and it will bring you together to explore what we mean by heritage, what should be protected and how does this heritage have a meaningful impact on our lives and the lives within our communities. Read the initial report from the RSA about Heritage across the UK.
Our event is free but we do ask that you book a place online at the top of this page. Free refreshments will be provided, along with a tour of the Anstice Building which will begin at 18:30 before the meeting. Free parking is available opposite at the Tesco Superstore.
