Network panel discussion on LGBT coverage in the media
Do you think the LGBT+ focused media coverage has improved over the last few years? Do we see more meaningful and truthful LGBT+ characters in the soaps and sitcoms on our TV screens? Are LGBT+ stories discussed in our drawing rooms and in public lives more openly than ever before? Do we see a more positive news agenda now that presents LGBT+ people in ‘all walks of life’?
To discuss some of these and more relevant topics, the RSA LGBT Creative and Cultural Network organised a panel discussion on LGBT+ Media Portrayal.
Joining us on the pannel for this discussion will be:
1. Tunde Ogungbesan - Head of Diversity at BBC
2. Linda Riley - Commercial Director European Diversity Awards
3. Helen Belcher - Founder of Trans Media Watch.
Our pannelists will each speak for around five to ten minutes and then the discussion will be opened up to the audience in the form of a Q&A session.
If you have any questions, please contact the Network lead Niranjan Kamatkar FRSA by email, or via his MyRSA Profile.
