Join us to hear from three guest speakers, each approaching the future of Newcastle form their own area of study.

Mark Tewdwr-Jones FRSA, Professor of Town Planning and Director of Newcastle City Futures

Rose Gilroy FRSA, Professor of Ageing, Policy, and Planning at Newcastle University

Jonathan Schifferes, Associate Director, Public Services and Communities for the RSA.

Professor Tewdwr-Jones will discuss his work in Newcastle University's Newcastle City Futures and Newcastle City Council's City Futures Development Group. These bring together the public, private, community, and academic sectors to shape and design innovative cross-sectoral and collaborative initiatives in the north-east to improve research, resilience, wellbeing, and policy.  

Professor Rose Gilroy will be talking about the Future Homes project that is ambitiously developing dwellings in the city that are sustainable, inclusive, and digitally informed. Housing that works for everyone whatever their age.

Jonathan Schifferes will share his work exploring how the built environment affects social and economic productivity. 

Drinks and nibbles will follow at around 7:30pm.
