‘Form follows function’ is a phrase that has been used over many years to describe what is regarded as the core of good modern design.

Yet lots of products and buildings which seem to ignore this rule are successful, whilst lots of those that do are obvious failures. What is really going on?

Eric Woodcock FRSA will explain what the phrase really means, as well as two other facets of a design which also determine whether it will be a success.

The presentation will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the ideas in the talk.

If you have an idea that you would like to share, a project you'd like some advice on, or if you're looking to connect with others based on a specific topic during the meetup, there will be an opportunity for you to stand up and introduce yourself, your ideas, and your interests. If you would like a slot, please tell us more when you register your ticket.

Otherwise, there will be plenty of chances to catch up with friends and meet new people.

This informal event is free to attend and open to Fellows, friends, and colleagues interested in supporting the work of the RSA.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: networks@rsa.org.uk. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.

Location: The Business School, Edge Hill University, St Helens Road, Ormskirk, L39 4QP
