Newcastle Encounter meets on the third Wednesday of every month. Our theme for May is Independent Creative Living.

Esther Salamon FRSA will give a brief presentation on Independent Creative Living - a pioneering housing initiative being developed in north-east England that is aimed primarily at older artists (across art form disciplines), and those who are in related cultural occupations.

The ambition is to provide services, amenities, and opportunities to maintain a person’s independence, life-long creative learning/producing, and social interaction in a safe, stimulating, and creative environment. The intention is to harness the skills, ideas, and knowledge of older artists and to share these with the wider community, and in this way contribute to cultural innovation and the creative life and vitality of the region.

Join us to also connect with local Fellows, discuss ideas, and find out more about the RSA and Fellow-led projects.

Everyone is welcome and these events are free to attend. Please follow the "Book Now" link to register.

If you have any questions, or to let us know of any access requirements or reasonable adjustments you have, please contact Bill Gibbon FRSA: bill@billgibbon.net.

Location: Harbottle Suite, Black Gate, Newcastle Castle, Newcastle, NE1 1RQ
