Murmurations: the #makechester talks are back, organised by a group of Cestrian friends including architect and Chester Growth Partnership board member Andy Foster FRSA; photographer Sam Ryley; University of Chester's Head of Sustainability Alice Elliott; and Nine Meals From Anarchy Co-Founder Tom Whitley.

Creating ideas to inspire culture and business

Following a successful inauguration last year, the #makechester talks 2017 welcome another excellent, diverse and thought provoking line-up of speakers, including:

  • Sheila Dillon, BBC Radio 4 Food Programme
  • Charlie Gladstone, The Good Life Experience Festival
  • Julian Dobson, Urban Pollinators
  • Sarah Taylor, Spice Time Credits.

The speakers will share their stories, experience and expertise on creating meaningful change in communities, place-making, the economics of enough, food cultures, learning through nature and bringing entrepreneurial ideas to life.

We hope attendees will be inspired to connect via opportunities to discuss the event over lunch, refreshments and a drink at the end of the day.

Hosted by Storyhouse, this event will also be the very first not for profit, community run event at Chester’s brand new cultural centre. Storyhouse will be providing an insight into their mission to open their house to the community, with the motto #thishouseisyourhouse.

Perfectly judged day - and a fantastic set of speakers covering a well-balanced set of topics and issues. I loved the fact that it was so well organised but deliberately engineered to feel more like an informal get-together of like-minded people looking to make a difference.

- Peter Hooper, Murmurations 2016
