RSA Mindfulness Network: Intensive 4-week Practitioner Course

Fellowship events

The Drawing Room, RSA House, 8 John Adam Street, WC2E

The RSA London Mindfulness Network is offering a 4-week course exploring the central themes of mindfulness for those with experience who want to deepen their practice and live in awareness.

The course will be held in the Drawing Room at the RSA House over four consecutive Mondays from 18:00 - 20:00, beginning 18 September. The cost of the 4-week course, including materials and refreshments, is £78.

The intention is to delve deeper into four areas of practice:

18 September:  Body – We will deepen awareness of the body, looking at the somatic and autonomic nervous systems, and explore how to use our body as radar and an anchor.

25 September: Mind – We will have a look at how our minds work, exploring metacognition, and consider how to develop equanimity throughout our day.

2 October:  Compassion – We will focus on meditations to develop self-compassion as well as compassion for all, and investigate the potential impact in  our lives.

9 October:   Resilience – The quality of our lives depends less on what happens to us and more on how we respond to what life throws at us.  In this final session we explore techniques to bounce back from life’s turmoil and to nurture balance and equanimity throughout the day.

ABOUT THIS NETWORK

The aim of the RSA’s Fellow-led Mindfulness Network is to engage, educate, and inspire Fellows to practise mindfulness and empower them to mainstream mindfulness in their lives and communities. The Network enables Fellows to access research, practice mindfulness together, and work with a network of practitioners, teachers and Fellows to share practical interventions. An important goal of mindfulness is to create the conditions for the enlightened thinking and collaborative action needed to address today's most pressing challenges.
