RSA Coaching Network: Being a Creative Partner

This February, the RSA Coaching Network invites all Fellows to learn coaching skills for social impact

Whatever you do, you will get stuck from time to time or find that the usual ways of doing things or solving problems don’t work. Coaches spend much of their time helping clients find a new way forward. But the skills and approaches they use are not just for coaches: they can apply to any situation where you want to work in partnership with someone and help them find new possibilities.

In a complex and competitive world, the ability to be creative, or to support and foster creativity in others, is an important way of making things happen and developing ideas that are fresh and compelling.

The RSA Coaching Network invites all Fellows (whether you are a coach or not) to an experiential evening where you can try out some coaching approaches to being a creative partner.

Whether your goal is to grow a social enterprise, manage key relationships with partners or investors, or engage clients, these core coaching skills can help you add value for your stakeholders, staff, clients, and partners.

The evening will be participatory, fun, and fast-moving. We’ll look at how you can creatively influence the systems and relationships that you encounter. We'll also look at how you can draw on the wide expertise and knowledge that you already have to generate new insights into the challenges you face and move forward.

This event will also give you an opportunity to learn more about “Coach-Link” – a pilot system designed to connect Fellows who are coaches and Fellows who are working on projects aligned with the RSA's values. It is the RSA Coaching Network's commitment to the Fellowship that it will increase access to high quality coaching for social impact to support the RSA mission of social progress.

About this Network…

The RSA's Coaching Network mission is to turn coaching into a social contribution. It aims to engage Fellows in personal and social development by improving awareness and understanding of what coaching is; as well as increase access to cutting edge coaching methodologies across the RSA Fellowship and beyond. Specific goals include:

• Offering a resource for the RSA community to support Fellows and their projects including through pro bono coaching.

• Increasing access to coaching for social impact.

• Providing opportunities to learn about coaching and raise awareness of coaching across the Fellowship.

• Creating a forum for coaches to refine their own coaching approach.

• Running events that enable these goals.
