Join us for an interactive online event to find out how RSA Fellows are leading a movement to re-build regional banking in the UK and explore how you can help create a new community bank for London.
If you go back far enough, banking used to be about trust – but today barely a third of us trust our banks to work in our best interests. At the RSA we are supporting the Community Savings Bank Association (CSBA) to set up a network of regional co-operative banks across the UK with a mission to serve all people on equal terms and to focus on honest and transparent savings, loans and banking services for SMEs, community groups and households of ordinary means.
The first of these is now being set up by RSA Fellows in London. We’re calling on our Fellowship to help us build a movement that can disrupt the UK banking sector and help drive inclusive growth across London and the rest of the UK.
This event will be an opportunity to find out more about:
The current state of the banking system and what needs to change
The economic and social case for regional banks
The CSBA and their plans to create a network of regional banks across the UK
Greater London Mutual - what will it look like and how will it work
