RSA Watch Oxford: Connecting policy ideas to Community Action

Join us for RSA Watch in Oxford this July.

Politicians, think-tanks, community leaders, social entrepreneurs, lobbyists, activists – there seems to be no shortage of people or ideas that seek to change the world and improve society. But how do those ideas get translated into activities involving those most in need? Is there a complete system at play here, and is it helpful to understand it this way?

We will view a selection of videos drawn from the RSA and Arts at the Old Fire Station as snapshots from across this wide landscape to help frame debate. We hope to explore the relationships and links between different actors in this area. Does the thinking join up? How does it impact the people and issues most in need of change, and are their voices heard? Is there a role we might forge for ourselves in this, whether as individuals or as local RSA Fellows?
