Newcastle Encounter meets on the third Wednesday of every month. This month we will be hearing from speakers across a variety of social issues- sustainable living, housing for the elderly and empowering young people.

We will be hearing from Professor Rose Gilroy on Future Homes, a charity exploring housing fit for everyone, from the aged and disabled, to housing with flexible interiors and renewable energy generation.

Caroline Afolabi-Deleu from the youth charity Success for All will be talking about the charity’s activities, and their impact on young adults based in the North East through learning hubs and promoting peer learning.

We will also hear from Claire Thompson on growing natural capital, as she takes us through the concept of natural capital, what it means for the future and why we need to grow natural capital. Claire is the Lead for Capability North East’s Greening the Economy of North East England, and Partnership Manager for the North East England Nature Partnership.

Join us from 6pm to hear about these initiatives, and as usual there will be an opportunity afterwards for Fellows to chat about what interests them, share ideas, and find out more about Fellow-led projects.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: networks@rsa.org.uk. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.

Location: Ampersand Inventions, Floor Four, Commercial Union House, 39 Pilgrim St, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6QE
