Join us for the first event in RSA ANZ's online series, as we explore the existential risks that threaten humanity and how we create a sustainable future.

Humans are facing our greatest test in the million-year ascent of our kind. This isn’t a single challenge. It’s a constellation of huge man-made threats, now coming together to overshadow our civilization’s stability and even, maybe, its future survival.

Society treats these risks — ecological collapse, resource depletion, weapons of mass destruction, global warming, global poisoning, food insecurity, population and urban expansion, pandemic disease, dangerous new technologies and self-delusion – as separate issues. In reality, they are deeply intertwined: each affects the others. What are most needed are crosscutting solutions in the context of transitioning to a life affirming global culture.

At this online event, we'll discuss how to solve the pivotal issue of securing human survival in the 21st Century and beyond. Joining us are speakers Julian Cribb, award wining science journalist and author of Surviving the 21st Century, David Hulme, publisher of the quarterly journal Vision, and Andrew Gaines, instigator of the Great Transition Initiative.

Joining instructions will be sent to registered attendees closer to the event date.
