At the next Inequality in Education Meeting we will continue our exploration of the promises and pitfalls of a National Education Service.
We will be joined by Diane Reay, Emeritus Professor of Education at the University of Cambridge and visiting Professor of Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her particular interest is in social justice issues in education, and cultural analyses of social class, race, and gender. Diane grew up in a working-class coal-mining community before becoming an inner-city primary school teacher for twenty years. She has researched extensively in the areas of social class, gender, and ethnicity across primary, secondary, and post-compulsory stages of education. Her most recent book is entitled, ‘Miseducation, Inequality, Education and the Working Classes’.
This event will be filmed and shared online subsequently.
