Join us for the next RSA Worcester Meetup this May.
The focus of this meeting is 1950s arts. This illustrated presentation reviews the development of art and design in the 1950s, a decade in which Britain made the adjustment from war to peace, through austerity to normality. British artists contributed to the creation of a new post-war world through:
- a renewed emphasis on realism in art;
- the development of abstract art, blurring the boundaries with realism; and
- a growing interest in printmaking, making art more widely available.
