RSA Reinventing Work Network: Evolving Our Definition of Work

Factors such as stay-at-home parents/carers, extended work-life due to higher retirement age or economic need, work defined beyond economic value to include social/cultural value and more, the impact of technology and many other factors require a much broader and inclusive discussion about the definition, value and social meaning of work within our society. 

The RSA has a lead role in defining and shaping good work and the world of work.  In this session we will be joined by Rich Mason from the RSA Future Work Centre team to share its work and perspective. We will explore and discuss current thinking drawn from a range of sources, and capitalise on the wisdom in the room. 

To reinvent work we need to be clear what we are reinventing and why. This session will offer space and opportunity to develop our network’s thinking on these important issues. The discussions will shape our future programme which aims to help bring about positive change in the world of work. 

The session will include a Q&A as well as small group discussions about how the network can take forward its ideas.
