RSA Fellows resident in the Borders and guests are invited to attend a workshop to consider both some local rural affairs and any possible programme of events for the RSA during 2019.

In particular there will also be some detailed discussion of the interim report of the RSA Commission on Food, Farming and the Countryside: attendees would need to have studied this ahead of the meeting. Gareth Baird, board member, Scotland Food and Drink, will help lead on this.

A key purpose is to consider the event reports which will become available shortly, plus also the blogs by Ann Packard, and by Sue Pritchard on "fine words and buttering parsnips", and her thoughts on the Eat-Lancet Commission report published this week. This will allow the final framing of fuller observations and suggestions made at the December 2019 conference at Marchmont and to feed these in to "Borderlands”, SoSEP and the RSA Commission.

The evening will also afford newer RSA Fellows or those interested in Fellowship to explore issues of mutual interest and to see where the RSA can be a local catalyst.
