This year the RSA Islington Network is focusing on the kind of practical actions needed if Islington is to play its proper part in combatting global climate change.

Currently in the UK we use three times as much energy as we need to if we are to keep within global limits.

What kind of local policies and practical action can lead to Islington’s population using only our fair share of global energy? We shall use the seven themes of Kate Raworth’s book Doughnut Economics to prompt our thinking.  Arrival: 6pm for a prompt 6:30pm start.

In meetings in June, September and December we will look in more detail at:

  • Food policies that nourish the planet as well as us

  • Carbon-free energy - in Islington?

  • Replacing waste with recycling, reuse and repair
