RSA Fellows Artists’ Network present: "Where there’s brass, there’s glass!” a walking tour of the City of London, looking at how, throughout its history of trade and finance, from stone fortresses to corporate crystal palaces, its architecture has represented money.

We will be discussing the question: why - with the evident global environmental challenges we all face in 21st century - do financial institutions persist in using glass architecture to communicate prestige?

The tour will be led by Mark Power RIBA FRSA, steering group member of the RSA Artists’ Network.

We will meet at 2pm next to the Eat Café at the top of Tower Hill Terrace, north west of the Tower of London (EC3N 4EE).

The tour will last roughly 2.5hours. It will end outside the Bloomberg Building, after a short visit to the London Mithraeum (EC4N 4TQ).

Those who would like to continue the discussion are invited for a drink afterwards in Bow Lane.

Please register for a ticket as places must be limited to 20 people. Comfortable shoes for walking and clothes for all weather are recommended. The route is wheelchair accessible.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: networks@rsa.org.uk.
