The 2019 RSA Scotland Annual Conference takes place at Napier University on the 21st of June. This is a key event in the annual calendar of RSA Scotland, and an ideal opportunity to meet with Fellows and hear about the future vision of the RSA.

The focus this year is Modern Enlightenment. What can we learn from the enlightened leadership of the past, how is that expressed today, and how can we shape the future? Our conference speakers will deliver short perspectives to spark debate, and offer RSA Fellows and guests opportunities for participation.

The RSA is pleased to welcome the Rt Hon Henry McLeish FRSA who will chair the conference, and close the event by giving his own reflections on Enlightenment today and how the RSA in Scotland can contribute its own unique perspective. Amongst Henry's diverse roles as author, academic and political commentator, he chairs the Scottish Alliance for People and Places to which the RSA Scotland is a signatory.

Jamie Cooke, Head of RSA Scotland, will report on activity over the past year and opportunities to get involved in the year ahead.

Guest speakers:

Prof Murray Pittock FRSA, Pro-Vice Principal of Glasgow University: Enlightenment of the Past

Sara Thiam, Chief Executive of the Scottish Council for Development & Industry: Enlightenment Today

Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the RSA:  Enlightenment of the Future

Followed by a panel discussion.

Arrival for the conference is from 1530. The conference will begin at 1600 and end at 1845. Drinks will be provided following the event as an opportunity to network with Fellows.
