RSA Durham Network are launching a new event series for 2019-20 with a focus on ‘Flourishing.’ The first event will be an early evening city walk, taking place on Sunday 28 July.
The walk will be an entirely outdoor event, led by local historian David Butler, who is an expert on 19th-century Durham City and an experienced guide.
Together, we will explore how and why mid-19th century Durham dragged itself out of the overcrowding, unbearable smell, disease, mud, blood and dung to flourish.
What can the words of the inhabitants of that time tell us about the city today? How can we continue to flourish?
This event will be free to attend. Follow the link above to book your place. To ensure everyone can be accommodated, numbers are limited to 20.
We advise wearing walking shoes and bringing waterproofs. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the event isn't wheelchair-accessible. However, RSA North are planning an accessible walk in early July.
