RSA Inequality in Education Network: Engines of Privilege

Fellowship events

 -

Rawthmells, RSA House, London

Francis Green and David Kynaston recently published their successful "Engines of Privilege: Britain’s Private School Problem". Early in the text, the authors quote a civil servant in the sixties. He reported that ministers would swing between thinking, ‘these schools are so bloody they ought to be abolished, or so marvellous they ought to be made available to everyone’.

This event will be an opportunity to examine and discuss this conundrum in our current context.  See the publisher's website for more information on the book.

After hearing from Francis Green on The Steps, guests will split into small groups for conversation on this topic. This event is free to attend and open to Fellows, friends, and colleagues interested in supporting the work of the RSA. Light refreshments will be available in the Long Gallery following the presentation and conversations.
