We're heading outdoors this summer for a meetup, walk and picnic combined. All are welcome including those with young children. The route is pushchair and wheelchair friendly, and we’ll be taking it at a gentle pace.
The Manifold Valley will be an alternative, natural environment for us to meet and share ideas or interests while on the move. We hope to create meaningful connections, spark and support ideas, and boost wellbeing as we take in the beautiful scenery, from the River Manifold at our feet to Thor’s Cave rising high above us.
Experienced walker and outdoor facilitator, Toby Rhodes FRSA, will be joining us to lead the way.
We will walk from Wetton Mill to Weag’s Bridge along the dismantled railway line. After a picnic lunch we will retrace our steps and return to Wetton Mill. You can see the route here. We will leave around 11am, break for a picnic around 12.30pm and return to Wetton Mill by 3pm.
Please register your place now, using the link above. This event is free to attend and we welcome Fellows and friends, family and colleagues.
Please note limited parking is available at Wetton Mill. If you’re interested in car-sharing, why not ask others using the Comments section below.
Feedback from Fellows who took part in other outdoor RSA events:
“I was particularly struck by there being no agenda or leading topic, and how this led to a relaxed atmosphere that really enhanced the way I interacted with people and not their job titles or remits or organisations. Refreshing and enjoyable.”
“…the countryside walk contributed greatly to the ability to talk to a wide range of people and created a great atmosphere...”
