Think Global: Act Local has been a slogan of the sustainability movement for years.

Recent reports from the UN and others have led to an escalation of concern about the sustainability of our way of life, through climate change and species extinction.

The RSA is an international organisation with a significant network of place-based groups making change in their community. A number of these focus on sustainability issues.

If you’re interested in ideas and methods for contributing to a sustainable future where you’re based, join the Sustainability Network at this participatory event. We’ll hear from some successful Fellow-led projects from around the UK with an opportunity to get practical tips on turning ideas into action.

We will be hearing from Victoria Page FRSA at Love Haslemere, Hate Waste, Mary Gillie FRSA and Chris Blake FRSAs from Energy Local and Bob Sherman FRSA at Harbury Energy Initiative.

Consider your environment when joining in and remember that your mic is live: ensure there is no confidential information (e.g. phone numbers on a pinboard) in the frame of your recording, as everyone on the call may be able to see it.

Try to use a headset: it doesn't need to be anything fancy - the kind that comes packaged with a smartphone is ideal. If you don't use one, your microphone can pick up the output from your speakers and that could cause echoes, feedback and all kinds of distracting noises on the call.

This event will take place via online conferencing platform, Zoom. Once registered you will receive the bespoke link to this meeting.

You can also share your thoughts via the Fellows’ Forum. Register for the Forum here and take part in the discussion here. We hope you can join us for another RSA Fellowship event soon.

If you have any questions, or to let us know of any access requirements or reasonable adjustments you require, please email the Local Area Team in RSA Fellowships: [email protected].
