What would it take to create an economy that truly serves us all?

How can we democratise the financial sector? What do we need to make it sustainable, equitable and ethical?

Join us to hear some practical solutions developing locally, nationally and globally, and contribute your own experiences and ideas to this new forum convened by RSA Central.

The event is hosted by Malcolm Currie FRSA.

Guest contributors include:

  • Mark Hall, Deputy Head of Engagement, RSA, introducing an emerging RSA Economy programme on financial services system reform

  • Claire Spencer, Senior Policy Advisor, Public Services and Inclusive Growth, West Midlands Combined Authority

  • James Moore, Chairman, Community Savings Bank Association, supported by the RSA to build a national network of locally owned community banks

  • Stuart Bowles, Director, Credex (successor to the Brum Pound) based on Sardex, a mutual credit system from Sardinia

This event is free to attend and we warmly welcome Fellows and those interested in the work of the RSA. We hope this will be the first in a series of events on democratising the economy and reforming our financial services – please come along and help us design the next one.

The event incorporates presentations, debate and discussion. Light refreshments will be served from 10am onwards. Access and parking information is here.
