This popular Peak District walk, along the spectacular Great Ridge and with views from Mam Tor, is an opportunity to unite people, ideas and interests as we venture out into the great outdoors.
Experienced walker and outdoor facilitator, Toby Rhodes FRSA, will be joining us to lead the way, and our RSA North and Central Managers will be sharing updates and opportunities on how to get more involved with the work of the RSA.
At three points on our journey, we’ll have a pit stop break and hear about a local, conservation or environmental project. We’ll talk about each idea as we walk on. If you have an idea you’d like to share in our mobile speakers’ corner, please email rachel.barker@rsa.org.uk.
The route
Edale to Mam Tor round walk
This walk takes us from the village of Edale up to the summit of Mam Tor, one of the high points in the Peak District, taking in the Great Ridge and Lords Seat. The walk involves about 350m of ascent and descent, so a reasonable degree of fitness is required and we advise wearing walking shoes or boots. We’ll walk for around four hours in total, plus a stop for lunch (please bring a picnic). There are no cafes or toilet facilities en route.
Please register your place following the Book Now link above.
The event is free to attend but to ensure group safety and conservation of the area, numbers are limited.
As part of our outdoor series, we are organising walks to accommodate as many people as possible. Unfortunately, on this occasion the event isn't wheelchair accessible. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
