RSA Plymouth: Renewing Democracy, Renewing Society

Join us at this joint event between Plymouth Athenaeum and the RSA SW Fellowship. This is part of the Athenaeum’s Future Challenges Series.

In this series, the Athenaeum is partnering with organisations including the RSA, Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Energy Community, Fotonow, Art and Energy, and Environment Plymouth to host a series of talks focusing on local, national and global challenges.

This talk will feature Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the RSA. He will be talking about the RSA’s work on trying to create a step-change in the use of deliberative democracy in the UK. 

Matthew Taylor has been Chief Executive of the RSA since 2006. Prior to becoming Chief Executive of the RSA, Matthew was Chief Adviser on Political Strategy to the Prime Minister. He was the Director of the Institute for Public Policy Research between 1999 and 2003, has written numerous articles, and is a regular panellist on Radio 4’s Moral Maze.
