How can we develop better solutions and raise community awareness of the social and economic benefits of reducing food and green waste? Who are the technologists and change-makers seeing this waste, across the agri-food supply chain, as a resource that can drive regeneration, employment and business opportunities?

RSA Lincolnshire warmly invites Fellows, friends, family and colleagues to discover new ideas and community-led innovations tackling these challenges both locally and across the UK.

We’ll hear from Nigel Curry of the Lincoln Food Partnership, who is creating a central City Food Hub in Lincoln to collect all food ‘surpluses’ from retail, processing and farms in and around the city, with the aim of developing projects that both help those in food poverty and create employment.

Mark Fenty of Positive Activities will share his vision for a 15-acre rural “off grid” site in NE Lincolnshire, which includes a community-led waste-to-energy project using cutting-edge technology, alongside conservation and biodiversity projects managed by local residents.

We are also excited to be joined by Ifeyinwa Kanu FRSA, who is developing the world’s first intelligent, kitchen-fitted and automated bio-upcycler. Deployed in food waste ‘hot spots’ such as restaurants, hospitals and schools, the technology will take unavoidable food waste and convert it to high-quality bioresources.

This event will take place via Zoom online conferencing platform.

Attendees will be sent details of how to access the event ahead of time, with simple instructions for anyone who hasn’t used Zoom before. If after receiving the instructions you still feel that you would like a run-through before the event, please get in touch by emailing: david.regler@maine-associates.com.
