Do you want to take part in influencing the future for Basingstoke & Deane? Basingstoke & Deane’s ‘Horizon 2050’ vision will provide an essential tool in establishing the direction of travel for the future of the borough by providing a rationale and platform that attract external investment, inform strategy, and inspire policy development.

Shaping the future through Horizon 2050.

Basingstoke and Deane is a great place to live today thanks to the vision and bold long-term decisions taken in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, which brought well thought-out infrastructure and facilities. We now face similar choices about the future and want to involve as many people as possible in setting a clear vision and framework for making good decisions about what is important and right for the future of the borough.

The council has started working with a wide range of residents, public services, businesses, voluntary and community groups, and local, national, and regional organisations on Horizon 2050 to plan together for the future. Through this work we are gathering views about the different ways in which the borough may change and are working with residents to understand their ambitions and priorities for Basingstoke and Deane.

This involves looking closely at areas such as transport, work patterns and jobs, wellbeing and health, lifestyle, where and how we want to live, sustainability, local services, and the impact of technology.

Join our discussion on 17 October, and have your voice heard in shaping the future of the borough.

This event will be co-hosted by the RSA, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Ipsos MORI, and DeskLodge.  More information on the Horizon 2050 project can be found here.
