Join the RSA Tees Valley Network, the National Trust, and a host of professional organisations at the magnificent Ormesby Hall, for a unique and important midsummer launch event.

The varied local professional engineering institutions have come together to found the North East Community of Professional Engineers. The aim in coming years is not just to raise the profile and understanding of engineering in our area, but to engage with the young, and their schools, teachers and parents, in a major, inclusive and co-ordinated outreach programme in our region. This initiative builds on the recent Great North Engineering Experience, which drew 34,000 visitors, and the established Bring it On event for schools, first run at Sunderland's Stadium of Light in 2017.

We will also launch our plan for a 'pilot' version of a Great Exhibition of the Tees Valley in 2020, echoing the RSA's Great Exhibition of 1851 by celebrating all that is new and exciting in industrial design and innovation across the area. The aims and outcomes will address all three current RSA Action and Research focus areas for activity: Public Services and Communities; Creative Learning and Development; and Economy, Enterprise and Manufacturing.

The June event will feature guest speakers, exhibition stalls, the GreenCar, some excellent entertainment and a chance to help design a new bridge for the Ormesby Hall grounds. We ask what will happen if we all come together to help build a better future here, with and for the young? Building on our Tees Valley Future event, we invite you to enjoy and be inspired by this varied evening, to make the most of networking, and to have the opportunity to join in and help shape that shared future.

Bar and refreshments will be available, and there is free parking at the Ormesby Hall.

The RSA Tees Valley Network is a fast-growing Fellow-led group with a dynamic and passionate membership. We are active in a number of areas and are determined to work in a non-partisan way to enrich Tees Valley society through our ideas and action.
