The Art of Gathering: Post-talk conversation and networking at the RSA

Fellowship Event

We believe good things happen when people connect. But we’ve all sat in meetings and events that have singularly failed to engage or inspire us, where a ‘moment’ never builds. So what makes a good gathering? How can we do it better?

We hope you’ll join us for a special cross-regional event bringing together South East and Central Fellows at RSA House to explore how we meet and why it matters. First we’ll hear Priya Parker discussing her book The Art of Gathering which explores what makes a truly transformative gathering. Then we’ll head downstairs for a tour of Rawthmells, the RSA’s new coffee house space, refreshments, and an opportunity to put Priya’s advice into practice with other Fellows.

Feel free to join us from 4.30pm for tea, coffee and conversation in the Dr Cross Room before heading up to The Great Room for Priya’s talk 6-7pm. We'll be back in Rawthmells until it closes at 9pm but this is an informal event: feel free to stay just as long as suits you.

Schedule

  • 4.30-5.45 – Tea, coffee and conversation with Claire Doran (Area Manager, South East) and Jay Singh-Sohal (Fellowship Councillor, Central) in the Dr Cross Room
  • 6-7The Art of Gathering talk with Priya Parker in The Great Room
  • 7-8 – Tour of Rawthmells by Alice Sewell (Rawthmells Events and Programme Manager) followed by facilitated conversation with Abigail Campbell (Area Manager, Central) and Claire Doran (Area Manager, South East) over a glass of wine or elderflower fizz in the Dr Cross Room.
  • 8-9 – Networking. Supper available to buy from Rawthmells.

This will be an open and casual event, so please feel free to pop in and leave as you need.  We warmly welcome you to join for the activities that interest you and fit with your travel plans.

This event is free to attend and open to Fellows, friends and colleagues interested in the work of the RSA.

Please book your place for the meetup using the link above. Places for Priya’s talk should be booked separately using this link.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: [email protected]. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.

Location: Dr Cross Room, Rawthmells Coffeehouse, RSA House, 8 John Adam St, London WC2N 6EZ
