Join us for this Fellow-led conference to explore and understand what is currently happening in Wales around education.
The first part of the evening will focus on developments in relation to the fundamentally new Donaldson curriculum in Welsh schools, and its implementation. This will create changes in the Welsh approach and make it diverge further from approaches in England. We will hear from Kirsty Williams, the Wales Education Minister, who will also answer questions. She will be be in conversation with Jane Davidson FRSA, who is herself a former Minister of Education.
The second part of the evening will feature a number of short presentations to bring attendees up to date on other important developments. These include the work now undertaken in the FE sector, particularly in the area of skills; the Prince’s Trust in apprenticeships; the Police in their interest in ACEs, (adverse childhood experiences); schools outside the traditional system; the new professional organisation of the teaching profession, based upon that of the medical profession, and more. There will also be the launch of the Society for Total Education, and an opportunity to join both this and the RSA to become an Fellow.
