In 1754, William Shipley founded the RSA with a belief that the creativity of ideas could enrich social progress. Over 250 years later, we’ve taken inspiration and developed a series of Engage events across the UK to engage with, encourage, and support our Fellowship community to turn their ideas into action.
Please note that this event has been CANCELLED with a view to rescheduling for early 2020.
Join us for RSA Engage in Winchester to spark new conversations, meet new people, and discover ideas that have the potential to become a powerful source for social change. Everybody is welcome to join us at this event, in partnership with Winchester Hub.
RSA Engage provides a brilliant platform to ignite, share and support ideas for change. At this event, a mix of projects on the theme of sustainability will be shared, followed by an opportunity to find out more from the people driving them forward and get involved, responding to each speaker's "call to action".
If you are working on a learning initiative or project that’s aligned with the RSA, and you want to share and seek support from an informed and connected audience, apply for a (three-minute) speaking slot.
APPLY TO PITCH HERE - The deadline for pitches has been extended. Applications close at 8am on Monday 25 November.
If you have any questions, contact Claire Doran: RSA South East Area Manager, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Location: University of Winchester Business School (West Downs Campus), The University of Winchester, SO22 5FT
MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ENGAGE SERIES
What is RSA Engage?
RSA Engage is a series of 20 events hosted around the UK which provide a space to make new connections and enable us to showcase innovative local projects. Whether you’re looking to find out more about the RSA, get involved with an exciting project, or to network with like-minded people, RSA Engage offers something for everyone.
What’s the format?
RSA Engage is a mix of 6-8 lightning talks and facilitated networking. Each speaker finishes with a call to action, asking the audience to share their skills and experience to help further their project. Between project talks, there are short bursts of networking where you’ll be able to spark new connections and talk to the speakers about how you might support their work. This is an interactive, standing event, though limited seating may be available.
Our events are open to the public and free to attend, but due to their popularity, we ask that you please register in advance by following the ‘Book Now’ link at the top of this page. You can only book one ticket at a time so if you would like to invite a guest, please send them this link and ask them to sign up.

About Winchester Hub
Winchester Hub was launched in January 2014 in partnership with the University of Winchester, an institution committed to student social action. Winchester Hub is part of the national charity Student Hubs, which was founded in Oxford in 2007 and now has Hubs in universities across the South of England. The organisation aims to mainstream student social action and work with the University and the local Winchester community to achieve this.
Starting with Schools Plus, Impact International and the Social Impact Internship Programme, Winchester Hubs has quickly grown to offer 6 volunteer projects, regular one-off volunteering days and a range of training, events and campaigns for students to get involved with. Since September 2014, it has also delivered the Try It Awards, providing funding and mentoring for students with social enterprise ideas.
If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.
