Join us for a fascinating discussion around the RSA's recently published 'Design for Life: to regenerate people place and planet'.
This event is set in the context of the RSA's recent 'Design for Life: to regenerate people, place and planet'. The aim is to encourage debate on issues of interest surrounding this, as well as any South-West Scotland project or role for the RSA which Fellows would like to bring to the meeting.

This in-person event will be held at the Crichton Campus, in Duncan Room 1 of Easterbrook Hall.
With thanks to the Crichton Trust for hosting this event, the RSA invites both Fellows and any interested individuals to come along for a fascinating and enjoyable discussion.

Speakers
Our speakers for this event are Norma Austin Hart, Lord David Johnstone, Luke Moloney, Mark Geddes and Gwilym Gibbons.
“Rural and Countryside challenges” - Lord David Johnstone, Annandale Estates and former SLE Chairman, will offer a personal perspective referencing various land issues, as well as rural housing needs and his project to convert a traditional barn to create four energy efficient affordable homes. He will also discuss his links to, and engagement with, the local community development trust in Johnstonebridge.
“Achievements, Ambitions and Challenges” - Norma Austin Hart, CEO of Dumfries and Galloway Third Sector Initiative, will address the work of the organisation in recent years including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“South of Scotland Enterprise’s Approach to culture and heritage” - Mark Geddes, Creative and Cultural Capital Manage of South of Scotland Enterprise, will discuss the organisation's approach to culture and heritage.
“Current and Future Urban Heritage Challenges” - Luke Moloney will discuss current and future urban heritage challenges. Luke Moloney is an architect, a Trustee of the Dumfries Historic Buildings Trust, and a former Trustee of the Dumfries Music Club and the Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust.
“Design for Life” - Gwilym Gibbons, Chief Executive of The Crichton Trust and RSA Fellow, will offer her perspective on 'Design for Life'.
