Our Central Changemakers series offers an interactive space to hear from changemakers and to meet Fellows from across the region.

Join RSA Central on a Wednesday lunchtime for an informal online talk. You’ll hear from a speaker about their story of social change and what they’ve learnt about effective changemaking, followed by a chance to discuss the topic of the day or anything else on your mind, in small breakout rooms. We start at 1pm and we’ll be finished by 1.45pm, allowing you to enjoy your Wednesday lunch break with inspiring speakers and interesting colleagues.

In April, we'll be joined by:

5 April: Toby Murray FRSA: The RSA's research on young people’s health and economic security

It’s not easy being a young person in these times. RSA research last year found that 47% of young people were in a precarious financial position as a result of low quality work, housing insecurity, and a fraying social security net.

How do young people experience this insecurity? How does it affect their health and sense of self? And what can be done? Join Toby Murray, Senior Policy Researcher & Health Foundation Fellow at the RSA, to hear about the RSA’s work in this area and share your questions, reflections and experiences.

19 April: Gavin Fletcher FRSA – Good Food Leicestershire

Good Food Leicestershire has been on a mission to get nutritious Leicestershire food into Leicestershire bellies since 2018. Working with council supply chains, they’re working to use the power of procurement to support regenerative, low input farms in the region and put healthy, local, climate friendly food on children’s plates.

Join Gavin Fletcher, Co-ordinator of Good Food Leicestershire, to hear how an alliance of Leicestershire farmers, scientists and council officers have joined forces for food security, biodiversity, and healthy kids.

The event is free to attend and open to all, Fellows and non-Fellows. Please feel free to invite a friend or colleague!

Previous events in this series included:

22 March: Dr. Vicky Dunn FRSA – Grimsby Community Energy
