Claire Crawford

Assistant Professor of Economics, University of Warwick

Dr Claire Crawford is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick and a Research Fellow of the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Her research focuses on the determinants of educational attainment and participation, especially in higher education. She is particularly interested in understanding what explains socio-economic and ethnic differences in these outcomes, and what universities and policymakers can do to help reduce these gaps.

Her research has highlighted the importance of the secondary school period for raising the attainment of those from disadvantaged backgrounds as a route through which to reduce gaps in university participation and has also investigated the roles of attitudes and behaviours, and financial incentives.
