Ian Burbidge

Head of Innovation and Change, RSA

Ian Burbidge is Head of Innovation and Change at the RSA. He is an experienced strategy and system change practitioner with over fifteen year’s public service. At the RSA he leads the development of the theory and practice that underpins the RSA’s model of change – why initiatives so often fail and how we might work differently to tackle some of society’s most entrenched challenges. Ian’s research focuses on innovation and systems change, particularly across the public and community sector. He explores the interplay between the different incentives and power dynamics of our institutions, communities and individuals, and the skillset and mindset of those who are able to navigate these tensions and make things happen. Ian holds a Masters in Behavioural Science from the London School of Economics.
