Maria Konnikova

Maria Konnikova is the author of 'Mastermind: How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes', which combines the latest research from the worlds of psychology and neuroscience with passages from Conan Doyle’s books to explain how Holmes does what he does.

She also writes the weekly Literally Psyched column for Scientific American and used to run the popular psychology blog Artful Choice for Big Think. She studied psychology, creative writing and government at Harvard, where she was taught by Stephen Pinker and graduated magna cum laude. She also holds  an MPhil in psychology and an MA in political science from Columbia,  where she is currently studying for a doctorate in psychology.
