Sir Peter Bazalgette
Chair, Arts Council England
Sir Peter Bazalgette is Co-Chair of the Creative Industries Council and Chairs the Royal College of Art’s Council. In 2017 he led an independent review into the UK’s creative industries as part of the Government’s Industrial Strategy. He also chairs the e-commerce craft retailer, Lovecrafts and sits on the board of the Department of Education.
Sir Peter stepped down from chairing ITV last September and before that was a Non-Executive Board Member of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
From 2013 until 2017 he was Chair of Arts Council England. He was also a Non-Executive Director of DCMS and Channel 4, as well as President of the Royal Television Society and Chief Creative Officer of Endemol (devising several internationally successful TV formats).
Peter’s book about the business of TV formats, Billion Dollar Game (Time Warner), came out in 2005, and in 2017 he published The Empathy Instinct (John Murray).
