Club Soda, The Mindful Drinking Movement, are taking their groundbreaking festival on tour and starting with a collaboration in Glasgow - they have teamed up with pub and bar company Liquid Academy and Drink Wise Age Well to put on a one day event that will have something for everyone.

There is a huge untapped market of people who are alcohol-free in Scotland (21.4% of the population are teetotal) and over 650,000 are looking to change their drinking habits. The response to the event has been overwhelming.

The event includes:

- Cocktail competitions with top local mixologists and bloggers.

- How to socialise alcohol-free: top tips from local sober and mindful celebs.

- How to pour a perfect Heineken 0.0 with Willem van Waesberghe, Heineken’s Global Master Brewer from Amsterdam.

- The history of the Glasgow Boozer - films and art from The People’s Palace.

- How to mix the perfect Alcohol-Free GnT.

Club Soda founder Laura Willoughby MBE FRSA said:
The demand for us to bring the festival to the rest of the UK is a real indication of the rapid shift in society. Not only are people being more mindful about where, when and who they drink with, but they are demanding drinks that don’t make them feel like they are being left out or treated like a second class guest.

“This event puts power back into the customer's hands and lets them find the drinks they like and then ask venues and shops to stock them - whatever their motivation: sugar-free, getting fit, drinking mindfully, or going alcohol-free.

Other sponsors putting their weight behind the event include new alcohol-free gin Ceder’s, who now filling the shelves all the big supermarkets.

The Club Soda Mindful Drinking Festival is local art space The Briggait on Saturday 13th October from 12 noon to 6pm and is free to attend.
