FRSA Chris Passey has co-produced a special performance of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, with choreography based on the original ballet by Nijinksy.

The original Nijinsky ballet was thought to be lost until Joffrey Ballet recreated the choreography in 1987.

Choreographer, Attiye Partridge said, "The challenge was to produce work based on such an iconic ballet that was also accessible to my dancers who range from students at Kimichi School to working professionals. They have been working incredibly hard and I'm immensely excited to see their hard work alongside that of the huge orchestra."

The 100-piece orchestra will be conducted by Keith Slade and led by Charlotte Moseley. The concert will also feature nationally acclaimed cellist Richard Jenkinson performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto. The Kimichi School is Birmingham’s only music specialist school.

Proceeds from the concert will be given to the Pulmonary Fibrobis Trust, with the concert dedicated to Huw Thomas - a member of the orchestra who suffers with the disease.
