Introducing the 2017/18 briefs, with Sue Siddall

2017/18 Briefs

29 September 2017

How might we improve wellbeing in the workplace? Design ways to improve sleep quality? Make financial services more inclusive? Redesign toys to eliminate waste? These are some of the challenges posed by this year's RSA Student Design Awards briefs.

This week friends and collaborators filled the RSA House for our Launch + Tutor Briefing Event. The afternoon session was a chance for university staff to hear about the briefs first-hand from our industry partners, followed by an evening keynote talk by IDEO partner + RSA Trustee Sue Siddall to publicly mark the launch of this year’s competition. Her fantastic talk on “The Power of Design Thinking” is now available to watch or listen to online, and we’ve uploaded our partners’ presentations from the Tutor Briefing to the brief toolkits (select a brief online, then go to the side menu on the right to access the toolkit).

We’ll share lots more resources, tips and advice on Facebook and Twitter over the coming weeks, and booking for our student workshops will open soon – watch this space…
